We don't just sit there...
Fun, friendship, trying new and exciting things and lending a helping hand to others is what Round Table is all about. From sports to arts, family social events to charity fundraising, banquets and functions to a good old fashioned night out with the boys, Round Table provides an opportunity for young men to embrace life to the full.
Smethwick & Oldbury Round Table is one of the oldest Round Tables in the United Kingdom and thus has one of the proudest traditions. Our links with the local community have been forged over more than 70 years and having a 'low' Table number (No. 58) has allowed us to build an impressive network and bonds of friendship with many other 'No. 58' Round Table clubs overseas.
The benefits of Round Tabling are many and varied. Taking part in the business of Table and organising functions and events builds leadership skills, public speaking abilities and confidence. When it comes to personal development Round Table has few if any equals, especially when so much enjoyment is to be gained at the same time.
Round Table opens up many opportunities to become involved in the community and form new and enduring friendships in the local area, across the UK and beyond.
Membership is open to men between the ages of 18 and 45 years from all walks of life, irrespective of their religious beliefs or political opinions. Beyond that, the only restriction is that potential members should have some connection with the locality of the Table they wish to join.
As an organisation where participation is key, the old saying applies strongly to Round Table: "You get out what you put in". Round Table provides an excellent path for young men to develop valuable life skills whilst having plenty of fun along the way.
